Personal health devices are a wearable technology that measures information from the user and stores on a digital platform. Smartphones, FitBit, Apple Watch, Oura Ring to name a few wearables that track health information. It's only as of late that AI technology has expanded into healthcare and wellness app vendors.
Well what is AI, or Artificial intelligence when it comes to healthcare technology? I know, it sounds intimidating. I'm not the only one who pictured a movie where all of the robots take over society. No, that's not it! AI is another way to imply machine learning, all resulting in a predicted outcome. Everyone must have heard of an algorithm, who goes online or social media in any sort. In a medical setting, AI technology can help analyze information to predict and prevent future health outcomes. The National Library of Medicine journal suggests AI performed better at diagnosing disease and spotting discrepancies than humans were in numerous studies. AI technology has proven that it's here to stay and there is much we can learn from a balance of the two worlds. The balance comes from the human connection of understanding the technology.
